Episode #17 – Interview with Veronica Vazeri

 

Veronica is a Gender Communication Educator and a certified Relationship Coach. She is passionate about all aspects of human connection, helping men and women to achieve their greatest potential through understanding each other’s language differences and communication patterns.

 

How did she get into this field?

She started because of her own personal frustration. She realized that relationships, personal or business, are everything. Veronica always understood the impact of being able to relate and communicate with others, but she was frustrated with the education in this field. It’s not something we are taught in school, so we have to figure it out ourselves as we grow up. She learned how to communicate with her husband so they don’t have any misunderstandings. She has been learning about relationships for many years and she knows that it’s important for everybody to learn about it as well.

Personally, I think it’s so important to work on our relationships, especially as an entrepreneur because we miss or pass on so many opportunities because of bad communication.

 

The most crucial skills an entrepreneur should have

It starts with communication, that’s how relationships start. So one of the most important skills in Veronica’s opinion is understanding different communication styles. There is not just one right way to communicate and it’s important to consider different approaches, especially between men and women. It’s important as an entrepreneur to know non-verbal and verbal communication and the differences between the ways that different genders communicate.

When people find out that I work with my partner, I get a lot of questions about how we make it work so well.

 

Tips how to find the balance between work and relationship, especially when working together

It requires a lot of discipline to be able to work with your partner because there are different approaches in business and a loving relationship. In business, you need to get things done but in a private relationship, it’s different. So it’s important to separate those times and don’t bring the business into private life. That’s important to keep the sexual attraction alive. It’s not impossible to work successfully with your partner, but it requires a little bit more thought and effort.  

It’s not easy to find the balance between work and private life as a woman, especially when you have children. It requires a transition from business mode to coming home and being a woman or a mum. It might take an hour after work of being able to do nothing and relax, so you can completely focus on your family afterward.

 

Finding time for the business but also for self-care

Me-time can be the most productive time for an entrepreneur. A lot of people feel guilty to take some time for themselves instead of getting more work done. It’s important to take a break and regain your strength, so you can be more productive and work more efficiently. Veronica started to include time for herself in her calendar, so she is actually able to do nothing at all and zone out. It helps her being in her thoughts and therefore, she was able to come up with her best business ideas in that time.

I can relate to that as well. I have the best and most amazing ideas when I take time for myself.

 

How to communicate with your partner that you need more time?

Your partner might understand that you need time to yourself. Men usually need that transition time themselves. It’s important that you give that time to him, and also ask for time to yourself without being disturbed. This is very valuable in a relationship and needs to be communicated properly.

When it comes to personal relationships, compatibility plays an important role. Many people select a partner because of the chemistry between them. They might mistake it for values or goals, but it’s often chemistry that controls the decision. But values are an important factor in a romantic relationship and also having life goals in common. It’s also important to have good communication to be able to support each other in your personal development and growth.
